Before your first brew: 5 quick checksUpdated 2 months ago
A few quick things to check that'll save you hassle later. We've seen these trip people up, so worth double-checking:
- Make sure the seal is the right way up—An upside-down seal is the #1 cause of leaks and trouble screwing the parts together. Make sure the flat side faces up, and the angled edge down, like so:

- Click the strainer firmly into place—You should feel a clear "click." This stops your chai blend from falling out when you pour.
- Keep heat under the base only—Position your Chai Maker so flames stay under the pot and away from the handle (applies to gas and electric stoves).
- Wipe off any burnt milk from the base—If there's buildup from a previous brew, give it a quick clean before you start. This keeps things running smoothly.
- Pour with confidence—A smooth, steady pour from a height of 10-15 cm helps avoid drips. Tilt gently toward the end. If anything feels loose, double-check that strainer click.
